Inspired by Youth For Human Rights and
TED prize 2011 winner JR, we created
a project to conduct a campaign called Human Rights Generation.
It should actually be called Human Rights Reality - because that is exactly what we are doing in this project. We are scanning reality of how human rights declaration is followed by various European countries.
Another, simpler description would be: art + human rights reality + youth perspective = Human Rights Generation.
The prime inspiration Youthforhumanrights.org has done a marvelous job bringing articles from the declaration of human rights into young people's lives in a very stylish, modern and clear way. Yet another inspiration for us was JR's wish to turn the world inside out and use art to change people's perception about the world. Following his example, we have been creating art out of everyday problems of today's youth and hopefully it will have an impact on the perception of those who can do something about it.
In the first phase of the project, our team will visit 6 countries:
Slovakia, Poland, Latvia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy and Sweden and record videos that will show
the concerns of young people related to a specific issue. Just click yourself around to see what will happen
/ has happened in a specific country.
Human Rights Generation is financially supported by Council of Europe via European Youth Foundation.
